Data, Information and Knowledge
Define Data?
Data is a collection of values sometimes referred to as raw values

Define Information?
Information is data that has been made meaningful.

Define Knowledge?
Knowledge is the broad understanding of the context.

What does data reprepresent?
Data represents raw facts and figures

In information how do you make a form accessible to users?
A form may be placed onto the internet etc but in order to do this you need to change the format, sorting and grouping etc into tables.

in DB7 we had to create a report for Andrew

showing the members and their feecode.the report had to have a suitable title and ordere by surname

we were asked to use one of the most difficult tasks using the query function. this tasks had to be done using a design wizard. the query had to include information fomr 2 different tables and the info was membershipno, firstname, surname, street, town, postcode. the info also had to be sorted in surname ascending.

p table so that i could have new information for future tasks

Teching LEsson

My teaching lesson
The topic that I have been given to teach my class mates on for the lesson is Internal and External (Source and Requirement). For this lesson I have to present to my fellow classmates a PowerPoint presentation. This must include adequate information about my topic, good enough detail and also a good appearance so that they all remain interested in what I am talking about. The lesson must also include a creative task for everyone to take part in such as a certain exercise that will help to improve the classes knowledge about the topic I was given. The topic will then be concluded with a homework that I give and I then must take it in a mark the homework.

100 words on each of the following points:

Attention and conduct in class: Between my first days in September until now I feel that my behaviour has not been up to scratch. I would like to have created a better impression to my teacher instead of acting like the class clown. I also feel I cause a distraction on other pupils in this class which lead to them not paying attention. I was however not the only distraction in the class and sometimes was distracted by other pupils such as Mark or Karl. In the new term I would like to not be so distracted by others and perhaps pay more attention to the teacher and what he says as it will reflect on my grade at the end of the year.

Academic Performance: With the test that we were given I feel that I should have done a little better. I realise that the subject does require a lot of work, studying and at home. In the tests that I have done the results I got were not however the worst as I was over average of the classes results. In the last test we did I got 31/ 37. This was an average result but it needs improved if I am looking to do well in June when I have my actual exam. The coursework I have done also has got a decent result which again leaves room for improvement.

Practical skills acquired: Over the past term I believe that I used the practical skills I have obtained are good. I feel however that I did not get as many practical skills because I never handed in the work all of the time. The work I have done in class should have been enough for me to do well in my Christmas Exam so therefore


Time spent out of class: The work I did in class was not enough I feel to do well in my exams. This meant I had to do more at home or mainly in my free time. I did not make the most of my free time and therefore it should reflect on my grade. I plan on spending more time in class studying and then also on my own time to guarantee I get the best possible grade I can.

Responsibility for own learning: I must take full responsibility for my work that I have done in class and at home as the result is seen in my grade. I feel that my grade definitely marks the work I have done in each subject and it is a very fair grade. I did not do any work for my tests and it is clearly noticed. I attended class with my books each day and never really forgot passwords for the computer.

Spreadsheets

This week in Mr.Barrs ICT class i have learnt a lot about Spreadsheets. i have learnt that spreadsheets cna be used to store data such as numerical and alphabetical data. they can be used along wiht formulas to find out missing data. i have learnt how to use the formulae bar and learnt how to use formulas to find the SUM, MAX,MIN and also many IF formulas. spreadsheets are very helpful and would be a good option for calculating data.

thank you for your help over the last 2 years as they have helped me to achieve the grade i did. with the use of www.blogger.com i also have developed my communicational skills. with the help of blogger i can now communicate with other people. i promise to carefully use this blogger and use it for school purposes only.
